Advent is excited to announce our new Junior Pre-Kindergarten class starting Fall 2021!

Advent’s JPK program provides learners with an experience that fosters exploration and creates a love of learning. As Advent’s mission states, “We believe each child is unique and in a constant process of change so we involve students in the total learning process by engaging their physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being to meet high standards. Students are encouraged through varied educational approaches to question, challenge, and explore in their discovery of knowledge and truth.”  Our JPK experience allows students to progress seamlessly into the next step of their academic journey at Advent: Pre-Kindergarten.
*Advent's Junior Pre-Kindergarten program is designed for students who will turn 3 no later than September 1. JPK, Pre-K, and Kindergarten placements are determined through our required admission assessment.*

Junior Pre-Kindergarten Program Focus

Learn Through Play & Exploration
Gain Confidence with Structure and Routine
Build Strong Numerical & Literacy Foundations
Understand Appropriate School-Based Behaviors
Develop Relationships with Caring & Engaging Educators

Setting the Foundation

The Junior Pre-Kindergarten has an academic emphasis and the traditional values of an Advent education with programs in physical activity, art, music, and French.

Daily, physical activity through structured and unstructured exercise is an integral part of the curriculum.  An emphasis on physical activity promotes the development of healthy habits and improves gross motor skills.

Art instruction offers opportunities to explore colors and textures.  Art gives students the chance to strengthen fine motor skills and hand strength while being creative, exploring new ideas, and carrying out plans.

Music education ignites a variety of child development areas and skills for school readiness (intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy). Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words while strengthening memory skills.

Multiple studies show that early-start, foreign language learning improves cognitive skills and academic performance long-term.
