All grandparents should check in at the main entrance lobby before going to a classroom. A printed schedule and additional information will be available to them at check in.
Grandparents visiting only one student (who is not a first grader, acolyte, Cross and Shield or choral ensemble member--all of whom will be helping with worship that day) may wish to arrive only for classroom session II, which will begin promptly at 9:10 a.m.  Classroom session I and session II will be identical and there will be limited seating. It may be more enjoyable to forego standing for two classroom sessions. However, grandparents are more than welcome to attend both classroom sessions if they wish.
Have more than one student at Advent?
●     Two classroom sessions are available so grandparents may share equal time between students.
●     Grandparents visiting multiple Advent students are encouraged to attend the classroom of any student who is an acolyte, first grader, Cross and Shield, or choral ensemble member during the Classroom Session I (8:30 a.m. -9:10 a.m.).

●     Decide ahead of time which class grandparents will sit with in the Nave and make arrangements with teachers to have the other grandchildren from other classes join them.

 What else?
❖      For grandparents attending only Classroom session II, coffee and light refreshments will remain available in Clingman Commons until 9:10 a.m.
❖      Grandparents who have finished their classroom visits after session I are warmly invited to the refectory for coffee and conversation during session II.
❖      For wheelchair bound guests, a limited number of handicapped-designated parking spaces will be available at the school’s main portico entrance on a first come first served basis. Only individuals who are wheelchair bound will be given access to drive through the portico circle. All other guests will enter via the brick path walkway from 6th Avenue North.
❖      Please note students will not be adhering to their normal lunchroom schedule. If you feel your child may need a mid-morning snack, please send something that may be easily eaten between Classroom Session I and Session II, assuming this is allowed by your child’s teacher(s). Water will be provided.
❖      Please feel free to accompany grandparents if special assistance is required. Otherwise, please join your families in Clingman Commons as the classes process to the Nave at 9:50 am.
❖      Sunday dress is requested for students.
❖      All students must be signed out by a parent or grandparent. Please determine with grandparents ahead of time who will be signing out the student(s). Sign outs will occur in homerooms immediately after the worship service.
❖      For students in after care, please go to the Grandparents' Day website to register.
