Athletics
The mission of Advent Episcopal School’s Athletics program is to engage the mind, elevate the spirit, support healthy physical actvity and development, and stimulate the best effort of all who are associated with Advent Episcopal School.
We provide equal opportunity for all Advent students to participate in age-appropriate athletics at all levels, compete at the best of our abilities against similar competition, and improve team-building skills, technical skills, and sportsmanship through proper training.
Advent’s Athletic Program is intended to serve age-appropriate instruction and competition to all who want to play sports within local communities and beyond.
Our goal is to teach our players the values of hard work, determination, accountability, teamwork, and sportsmanship through different sports. We strive to provide age-appropriate, player-centered programming and to enhance the overall school experience by creating a better, more enjoyable, and more successful player, coach, and athletic development model.

Birmingham Regional Independent Athletic Association (BRIAA)
Central Alabama Soccer League (CASL)
Cheerleading
Students in grades JPK - 6th can participate in our recreational cheer program. Students typically provide support to our winter basketball program.
Basketball
Students in grades PreK-8th grade are eligible to play basketball. We partner with Birmingham Regional Independent Athletic Association (BRIAA), Toy Bowl, and the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) to provide a positive basketball experience for all players.
Cross-Country
We partner with BRIAA during our fall season for our PreK-6th grade runners. Students learn endurance and stamina for long-distance, outdoor running.
Volleyball
Our volleyball team, grades 3rd-6th, participates in both the Toy Bowl League and BRIAA for recreational volleyball during the fall and spring seasons. Grade 6th-8th compete with the Alabama High School Athlete Association (AHSAA). Students learn the basic fundamentals of this sport to be able to compete on a higher level for AHSAA.
Soccer
Soccer is offered for students in grades PreK=-Kindergarten through 6th grade in both the fall and the spring.
