Advent Festival of Lessons & Carols

Join us for one of Advent’s most beloved traditions!

The Advent tradition of Lessons & Carols stems from the very first Festival of Lessons and Carols that was held on Christmas Eve in 1918 in the chapel of King's College in Cambridge, England. Advent has been continuing this tradition as a school for close to 60 years. All of our students, JPK- 8th grade, participate in the service, which is a perfect start to the Christmas season. In addition to this Anglican tradition, Advent's Festival of Lessons and Carols has a unique tradition of its own. Each year, students and alumni join together to sing O Holy Night in French during the Sunday service.

Advent Alumni Party

All Advent alumni are warmly invited to join us for an alumni reception in the Refectory immediately following the Sunday, Dec. 13 service. Come reconnect with former classmates, visit with friends, and enjoy an opportunity to celebrate the Advent community together.

Lessons and Carols would not be possible without the generosity and support of our community. Offerings made during the Friday and Sunday services will be donated to the Advent Fund, which not only supports Advent’s most pressing programmatic, technology, and facilities needs, but also enables us to carry on the rich traditional of Lessons and Carols into the future.
