Grandparents Day

On Grandparents Day, we welcome family matriarchs and patriarchs to spend time with their grandchildren as we honor grandparents, give grandparents an opportunity to show love for their children’s children, and help children become aware of the strength, information, and guidance older people can offer. Head of School Holiday

The Head of School Holiday is an unannounced day of fun for students! The Head Holiday is a surprise to both students and faculty—the secret date is determined by the Head of School each year. After the surprise announcement in the morning, students get to enjoy games, activities, and special treats in lieu of their normal classes!

School Auction

Every other year, the Advent Parent Association (APA) hosts an auction benefiting our school and students. Our next auction is scheduled for March 14, 2025! We’ll be kicking off our 75th Anniversary Celebrations! Guests will enjoy a live and silent auction and dinner while raising funds to support Advent’s award-winning education experience for students in the heart of downtown Birmingham!

Mayfest

Each year, the Advent Parent Association (APA) hosts Mayfest, a springtime festival where students and their families celebrate the end of the academic year! The fun includes inflatables, relay races, carnival games, a cake walk, face painting, snow cones, cotton candy and more!

Festival of Lessons & Carols

The Advent tradition of Lessons & Carols stems from the very first Festival of Lessons and Carols that was held on Christmas Eve in 1918 in the chapel of King's College in Cambridge, England. In addition to this Anglican tradition, Advent's Festival of Lessons and Carols has a unique tradition of its own. Each year, students and alumni join together to sing O Holy Night in French.
