Choral Ensemble Hits a High Note in Tennessee
Advent’s Choral Ensemble of 4th - 8th graders leads the music for each Wednesday Chapel service, as well as singing at school and civic events throughout the year. While they are accustomed to singing in front of a congregation, their talents aren’t often on display for a panel of judges! That changed this weekend as they went on the road and stood out among choirs from across the region.
On May 9, these students traveled to Tennessee and took the stage at the Music in the Parks Festival in Dollywood. Competing against 22 other choirs—12 middle school and 11 high school groups from across the Southeast—our students rose to the top.
The Choral Ensemble earned First Place in the Middle School category with a superior rating of 98, the third-highest score of all choirs at the festival. Only two high school ensembles received higher marks at 98.5 and 99, making Advent’s showing all the more impressive.
We’re especially proud to share that sixth grader Charlie was named Best Middle School Vocal Soloist, a well-earned honor that reflects his talent and hard work.
After the competition, our choristers had the chance to unwind and celebrate their success with some much-deserved fun in the amusement park in Dollywood!
A heartfelt thank you goes to Dr. Teardo and Mrs. MK, our outstanding Choral Ensemble Director and Upper School Music Teacher. Their dedication and guidance continue to inspire excellence in our students and help them find joy in their craft.
Congratulations to the entire Choral Ensemble! You represented Advent brilliantly and we couldn’t be prouder.
